The AGA Awards Program is for AGA Student Members in good standing (see definition section of Award Rules, Etc. page) that are active security or law enforcement officers as we train both.

About Security Guards:

We are all familiar with what  law enforcement officers do, but what about security guards?

• Security guards are an essential service and serve society in many environments in all types of weather in both private and public properties.  

• Security Guards in New York and New Jersey (our two current locations) must undergo mandatory training and background checks as prescribed by state laws. Their primary job is to protect LIFE and PROPERTY.

• For a number of reasons, today's security guard fulfills more and more of the roles and functions traditionally performed by police officers, but most of the time do not receive anywhere near the same pay and benefits unless they are in the higher ends of the security industry such as Executive Protection Agents (bodyguards).

• Security Guards serve as the public face of an organization, enforce various rules and laws, protect people from harm, have a primary role in all emergencies at their assigned facilities, and many other things including public relations and customer service. 

• For all they do, security guards (and some law enforcement officers) are oftentimes generally underrated and underappreciated at many levels, therefore the Alliance Group Affiliates (AGA) has established a program to recognize our loyal student members on true merit.
